Job Overview: The Store In-Charge is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring inventory is well-managed, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring smooth functioning of the store. They are also responsible for staff supervision, customer service, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and managing inventory items, ensuring all goods are properly labeled and organized.
Stock Maintenance: Monitor stock levels, perform regular stock counts, and ensure that stock is rotated and stored according to company standards.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate inventory records, including updating stock movements, sales, and receiving logs, and generating reports for management.
Stock Replenishment: Assist in placing orders for materials and supplies based on inventory levels and project requirements, ensuring that stock levels are maintained.
Receiving and Inspection: Assist in the receiving and inspection of goods, ensuring that items are delivered in good condition and match the order specifications.
Material Handling: Safely handle and transport materials and supplies, ensuring proper storage and organization in the store.
Stock Issue and Distribution: Issue materials to different departments or project teams as required, maintaining proper documentation of the stock issued.
Health and Safety: Ensure that the store area is clean, safe, and free from hazards. Adhere to company policies regarding storage and handling of materials.
Communication: Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure the timely and efficient flow of materials.
Support Senior Staff: Assist senior storekeepers or inventory managers with daily tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework or certifications in inventory management or logistics is a plus.
Certifications: Forklift operation certification or other material handling certifications are an advantage.
Skills:
Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, suppliers, and other departments.
Basic Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and inventory management software is a plus.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move materials, and work in physically demanding environments.
Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify and address stock discrepancies or issues in the store.
Experience:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in a storekeeping, inventory management, or warehouse role is preferred but not required.
