Job Summery:
The Civil Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all civil construction activities for solar PV projects. This includes site development, earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads, control buildings, fencing, and other civil infrastructure. The role ensures that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all civil construction activities for utility-scale, commercial, or industrial solar PV projects.
- Review civil drawings, layouts, structural drawings, and technical specifications.
- Plan and monitor site grading, earthworks, excavation, backfilling, and drainage works.
- Supervise construction of equipment foundations, inverter stations, transformer plinths, control rooms, cable trenches, internal roads, fencing, and associated civil infrastructure.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, construction standards, and local regulations.
- Plan manpower, subcontractors, construction equipment, and material requirements.
- Monitor daily work progress and prepare progress reports.
- Conduct inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with approved drawings.
- Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues at the project site.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements through regular inspections and toolbox talks.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors during project execution.
- Support project testing, final inspections, punch list closure, and handover documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in utility-scale solar PV or renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of geotechnical investigations, survey coordination, and site development.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and HSE requirements.
- Effective project planning, scheduling, and resource management skills.
