The Senior Executive will be responsible for developing and enforcing safety policies, conducting safety audits and inspections, leading incident investigations, promoting safety awareness, and ensuring compliance with statutory and company safety standards across all site activities — including civil, electrical, mechanical, and installation works.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Safety Planning, Policies & Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain site‑specific safety plans, policies, procedures, and method statements tailored for solar EPC execution (civil, electrical, mechanical, installation, commissioning).
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, standards and statutory requirements relevant to project site work.
Review and approve safety plans submitted by contractors/subcontractors before mobilization; ensure all subcontractors comply with safety requirements.
2. Risk Assessment, Site Inspections & Hazard Control
Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification (HIRA / JSA), job‑safety‑analysis for tasks such as working at height, electrical works, lifting, excavation, civil works, module installation, and hot works.
Perform frequent site inspections — inspect equipment, machinery, scaffolding, tools, electrical works, temporary installations, PPE usage, access arrangements, fire‑safety equipment, etc.
Identify unsafe conditions or unsafe work practices, issue corrective actions, stop unsafe jobs if necessary, and follow-up until hazards are mitigated.
3. Safety Training & Awareness
Conduct safety inductions for all new staff, subcontractors, and labour before they start work on site.
Organize regular toolbox talks, safety briefings, and refresher safety trainings for all site personnel covering PPE usage, electrical safety, working at height, emergency procedures, safe work practices, and other relevant safety topics.
Foster a safety-first culture across the site — encourage reporting of hazards, near misses, and unsafe acts.
4. Incident Management, Investigation & Reporting
Investigate all accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or safety incidents on site — determine root causes, document findings, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
5. Emergency Preparedness & Safety Audits
Develop, maintain, and update emergency response plans, fire‑safety procedures, evacuation plans, first‑aid readiness, and ensure fire‑extinguishers and emergency equipment are available and functional.
Conduct regular safety audits, checks of safety equipment, PPE inventory, work permits (for hot works, lifting, electrical, working at height), scaffolding & access safety, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
6. Coordination & Stakeholder Interaction
Coordinate with project management, site‑engineering teams, civil/electrical/mechanical teams, subcontractors, vendors — to ensure that safety protocols are integrated into daily work planning and execution.
