Job Role: Assistant Manager - Civil Designs (Solar EPC - Ground Mount Projects)

Qualification: BE/BTech in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Deputy Manager – Civil Designs (Solar EPC – Ground Mounted Projects)

1. Site Development & Land Engineering
    • Perform site feasibility analysis using topography and contour data
    • Develop grading plans (cut & fill optimization) to minimize earthwork cost
    • Design stormwater drainage systems (surface & sub-surface)
    • Plan internal roads, access roads & equipment pathways
    • Ensure proper water runoff management & erosion control

2. Foundation Design Engineering (Critical Area)
    • Design and optimize MMS foundations:
    • Driven piles
    • Bored piles
    • Rammed foundations
    • Isolated / raft foundations
    • Design inverter, transformer, HT panel, and switchyard foundations
    • Perform foundation sizing, stability checks & reinforcement detailing
    • Selection of foundation type based on:
    • Soil conditions
    • Load combinations
    • Project cost constraints

3. Structural Design & Analysis
    • Perform detailed RCC design:
    • Control rooms
    • Equipment foundations
    • Cable trenches
    • Design steel structures (PEB / MMS supporting structures)
    • Conduct load calculations:
    • Dead load
    • Live load
    • Wind load (critical for solar)
    • Seismic load
    • Perform analysis using:
    • STAAD Pro / ETABS
    • Ensure structural stability, safety, and optimization

4. Geotechnical Engineering & Soil Interaction
    • Review and interpret geotechnical investigation reports
    • Evaluate:
    • SBC (Safe Bearing Capacity)
    • Soil strata & type
    • Groundwater table
    • Perform:
    • Pile load calculations
    • Settlement analysis
    • Recommend suitable foundation system for site conditions

5. Solar Project-Specific Expertise
    • Extensive experience in Ground Mounted (GM) Solar Projects
    • Design for:
    • Fixed Tilt systems
    • Tracker systems (single-axis trackers)
    • Understand wind impact on module structures
    • Coordination between MMS vendor & civil design
    • Layout understanding for module placement & row spacing

6. Design Tools & Software Proficiency
    • AutoCAD – Layouts, GFC drawings, detailing
    • STAAD Pro / ETABS – Structural analysis & design
    • Civil 3D – Land grading & contouring
    • MS Excel – BOQ, load calculations, design sheets

7. Quantity Estimation & Cost Optimization
    • Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities)
    • Perform material take-offs for civil works
    • Conduct cost optimization & value engineering
    • Compare multiple design alternatives for cost efficiency

8. Design Coordination & Vendor Management
    • Coordinate with:
    • EPC teams
    • Structural consultants
    • MMS vendors
    • Review & approve:
    • Vendor drawings
    • Design calculations
    • Provide technical inputs during tendering stage
    • Resolve design conflicts during execution

9. Project Execution Support
    • Issue GFC (Good for Construction) drawings
    • Provide site clarifications & design revisions
    • Support in:
    • Foundation execution issues
    • Alignment / leveling issues
    • Participate in value engineering discussions

10. Codes, Standards & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with:
    • IS 456 (RCC)
    • IS 800 (Steel)
    • IS 875 (Loads)
    • IS 1893 (Seismic)
    • Follow safety & quality standards
    • Maintain design documentation & version control
    • Support internal & external audits

11. Planning, Reporting & Team Management
    • Handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Track design deliverables vs timelines
    • Identify risks & dependencies
    • Coordinate with:
    • Procurement (for material specs)
    • Execution teams
    • Guide junior engineers (if applicable)
