Qualification: BE/BTech in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering (MBA/PGDM in Project Management preferred)

Role Purpose
The Project Director is responsible for the overall leadership and successful delivery of utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects from development support through execution, commissioning, and handover. The role provides strategic direction, ensures alignment across all operational departments, and drives projects to completion within safety, quality, time, and cost targets.
The Project Director acts as the highest authority on project execution, ensuring governance, risk control, stakeholder alignment, and operational excellence across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Governance
- Provide overall leadership for multiple ground-mounted solar projects
- Define project execution strategy and governance framework
- Establish decision-making protocols and escalation mechanisms
- Ensure alignment with organizational goals and policies
- Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and performance
2. Portfolio & Execution Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle from mobilization to handover
- Monitor master schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Ensure adherence to contractual milestones and KPIs
- Intervene in critical path issues and approve recovery plans
- Review and approve Project Execution Plans (PEPs)
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Logistics, Finance, HSE, QA/QC, and O&M teams
- Ensure smooth inter-departmental collaboration
- Resolve cross-functional bottlenecks
- Align departmental priorities with project timelines
4. Commercial & Contractual Management
- Provide oversight on major contracts and commercial frameworks
- Guide claims, variations, and EOT decisions
- Ensure strong contract administration practices
- Support dispute resolution and negotiations
5. Financial & Cost Control
- Oversee project budgets, cash flows, and forecasts
- Ensure cost optimization without compromising quality or safety
- Review cost-to-complete and financial risk exposure
- Approve major financial decisions related to projects
6. Stakeholder Management
- Act as executive interface for clients, investors, and key partners
- Engage with government bodies, utilities, and regulatory authorities
- Manage community and land-related sensitivities
- Lead executive review meetings and steering committees
7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Champion a zero-harm safety culture
- Ensure strict compliance with statutory and corporate HSE standards
- Review safety performance and audit outcomes
- Drive corrective and preventive actions
8. Quality Assurance
- Ensure implementation of QA/QC frameworks
- Review quality metrics and NCR trends
- Drive continuous improvement in execution quality
9. Commissioning & Handover Oversight
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and grid synchronization
- Ensure performance guarantees are achieved
- Approve final handover and documentation
