Role Overview

The Manager or Deputy Manager - HR will serve as a strategic HR partner supporting multiple renewable energy EPC projects across India.
The role is responsible for project-based workforce planning, end-to-end talent acquisition, HR operations, statutory compliance, employee engagement, and HR governance. The position works closely with project leadership, engineering teams, and site HR to ensure timely deployment of manpower and smooth HR functioning across all project sites.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Workforce Planning & Project Staffing

  • Collaborate with project directors, engineering heads, and site managers to understand manpower requirements for solar, wind, hybrid, and transmission EPC projects
  • Prepare detailed manpower plans aligned with project timelines and budgets
  • Ensure timely mobilization and demobilization of project personnel
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of technical and site-based talent

2. Talent Acquisition

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for corporate and project roles including engineering, construction, commissioning, HSE, QA/QC, SCM, and site administration
  • Manage sourcing, screening, interviews, salary negotiations, and onboarding
  • Coordinate with external agencies, contractors, and manpower suppliers for project hiring
  • Drive employer branding initiatives to attract niche EPC talent

3. HR Operations & Governance

  • Oversee HR operations for corporate and project sites including attendance, payroll inputs, shift schedules, and HRMS updates
  • Ensure adherence to HR policies, SOPs, and organizational guidelines
  • Manage employee documentation, contracts, extensions, and exit processes
  • Support HR audits and ensure data accuracy across systems

4. Statutory Compliance & Contractor Management

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, CLRA, Wages Act, PF, ESIC, and other statutory requirements
  • Monitor contractor compliance and conduct periodic audits at project sites
  • Liaise with legal and compliance teams to address statutory issues

5. Employee Engagement & Retention

  • Drive engagement initiatives tailored for corporate and site employees
  • Conduct regular site visits to understand employee concerns and improve retention
  • Facilitate training and development programs for technical and behavioral competencies
  • Promote a culture of safety, performance, and collaboration

6. HR Business Partnering

  • Provide HR insights and recommendations to project leadership for decision-making
  • Support organizational development initiatives, performance management cycles, and succession planning
  • Prepare HR dashboards, MIS reports, and manpower analytics for management reviews

Qualifications & Experience

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent
  • Additional certifications in labor laws or HR analytics are an advantage
  • Minimum 8+ years of HR experience
  • At least 5 years in Renewable Energy or EPC project HR
  • Experience managing multi-site HR operations is highly preferred

Experience Required

  • 8+ years in HR roles within Renewable Energy / Solar / EPC companies
